| Bemerkungen | The course is part or of the MSc ENTECH program, module ‘Energy in buildings’ -KIC-InnoEnergy Scholarship MasterSchool)- It is open to limited number of students in the Architecture Master program.
The lecture introduces to basic principles urban design and urban planning with regards to resource efficiency and energy issues on the scale of cities. Besides the view on single buildings, aspects of urban planning with regard to energy infrastructure and sustainable development of urban structures will be addressed, seeking possible answers on the question about the role of buildings and cities in tomorrow's overall energy system on different scales. The course will explore changing requirement of urban functions, relevant structures and the various objective targets as well as space concepts in light of the various requirements and actors of modern cities. The course is taught in English.
